ILLUMINATI: DO 13 FAMILIES REALLY CONTROL EVERYTHING?
Did you know the Illuminati appears in over 5,000 books and 200 films? From Beyoncé's videos to the US dollar bill, symbols of this alleged secret society are everywhere. But what's the truth?
Context:
The Illuminati was a real organization, founded May 1, 1776, by Adam Weishaupt, a Bavarian professor who wanted to promote Enlightenment ideals against church and state control. At its peak, it had 2,000-3,000 members. In 1785, the Bavarian government outlawed secret societies, and the Illuminati officially disbanded. Or did it?
Evidence:
Modern theorists claim the Illuminati went underground. The US dollar bill features a pyramid with an all-seeing eye - matching Illuminati and Masonic symbolism. Latin phrases "Annuit Coeptis" and "Novus Ordo Seclorum" suggest a hidden agenda. Celebrities flash triangle hand signs in videos - Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Rihanna, Lady Gaga - supposedly indicating Illuminati allegiance. The "single eye" appears constantly in music videos. World leaders attend secret meetings - Bilderberg Group, Bohemian Grove - with no press allowed. The Rothschild banking dynasty is said to control world money. The Georgia Guidestones, erected in 1980, contained population control instructions until destroyed in 2022.
Counterpoint:
Historians agree the original Illuminati was destroyed in the 1780s. The conspiracy theories were invented by conservative critics to discredit Enlightenment ideas. John Robison's 1797 book created the modern Illuminati myth. Dollar bill symbols are easily explained - the pyramid and eye were proposed in 1782 representing divine providence and strength. No connection to secret societies. Celebrity symbols are pop culture, not conspiracy. Triangle hand signs are common gestures. Jay-Z references Illuminati in lyrics because it sells records, not because he's a "member".
